For over 40 years, we've been tirelessly working to ensure that everyone, regardless of their abilities, has a place to call home within and beyond the greater Jewish community. Our mission is clear: to empower individuals with disabilities through employment, education, and the power of meaningful relationships.

While Israel continues to pull at our heartstrings, our hearts are warmed by watching our participants flourish at Yachad, and they continue to need our support. Yachad Chicago prides itself on being unique. In Chicago, programming exists for children as young as 5 through adults 61. Depending on people’s interests, there are choices of fitness, performing arts, crafts, farming (gardening), learning torah, taking public transportation & exploring the windy city, as well as learning how to play games, going out to eat, attending sporting events & so much more. Robust programming is provided Sunday – Thursday with a full shabbatonim schedule throughout the year. Yachad Chicago provides progressive person-centered programming where EVERYONE belongs. From the participants to the HS volunteers, to the staff, Yachad Chicago provides unique and robust social/recreational programming for Jewish individuals with intellectual disabilities, while partnering with local organizations to provide meaningful inclusive opportunities. You will find Yachad Chicago programs taking place at the Chicago Mitzvah Campaign, The Robert Crown Community Center, Shuls throughout Skokie, West Rogers Park, Lombard and Northbrook, as well as many other venues. Some participants who live outside of the Chicagoland area travel to Chicago to participate in Yachad Chicago programming because the ruach, compassion, friendship and creativity doesn’t exist elsewhere.
